Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for maternal and newborn health and be experienced in providing high-quality, compassionate care to patients during labor and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients during labor, including induction and management of scheduled and unscheduled cesarean sections.
• Monitor and support antepartum patients for various conditions.
• Conduct triage assessments for laboring patients.
• Utilize advanced medical equipment and technologies, including but not limited to CADD epidural pumps, Alaris IV pumps, and Philips monitoring systems.
• Follow AWHONN staffing guidelines, ensuring appropriate patient-nurse ratios are maintained.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery nursing is required.
• Charge experience is preferred.
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and FHM.
• Must have a valid IN state nursing license and necessary certifications in hand.
• Float to MCH unit may be required based on staffing needs.
• Ability to work during 2 out of 3 major holidays is mandatory.

Work Environment

The Labor and Delivery unit adheres to AWHONN guidelines for optimal patient care. Nurses can expect a patient ratio of 1:1 during active labor, 1:2 for patients not in active labor, and up to 1:3 for triage or antepartum patients as needed.
