Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a long-term care facility. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to quality patient care and demonstrate proficiency in a variety of nursing practices in a long-term care environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate patient care in accordance with established protocols and best practices.
• Administer medications and perform treatments as prescribed by the physician.
• Monitor patient health and report any changes to the healthcare team.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Assist in the training and supervision of nursing assistants as needed.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.

Requirements

• Current Alaska nursing license in hand.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in long-term care (LTC).
• BLS certification required.
• Must be willing to obtain Alaska Food Worker Certification during orientation.
• Ability to float between units as needed to meet facility demands.
• Must be open to working at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year).
• Must reside a minimum of 50 miles from the facility (locals not accepted).

Work Schedule

• Shift: 4×12 hours, variable (either day or night shifts based on facility needs).
• Guaranteed minimum of 60 working hours per 2-week period.
• Flexibility required; occasional overtime may be necessary.
