ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated ICU Registered Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in critical care and be passionate about providing exceptional patient care in a dynamic environment.

Schedule

• Options for 3×12 or 4×12 shifts
• Every other weekend, floating, and holidays are required as part of the contract
• 48-hour contracts are available, with overtime billed after 48 hours—please indicate preference at the time of submission

Patient Ratios

Typical ratio: 1:2–3

Floating Requirements

Candidates must be willing to float to the following areas:

• Stepdown Unit
• Emergency Department or Medical-Surgical Units to care for ICU patients being held

Minimum Requirements

• Three years of critical care experience preferred; strong candidates with less experience may be considered
• Previous travel experience is preferred
• Active Virginia or Compact RN license required at the time of submission
• Proficiency in Epic is mandatory

Required Skills

• Strong neuro critical care experience
• Ventilator management
• IV drip titration
• Telemetry monitoring
• Conscious sedation
• Dysrhythmia recognition and management
• Emergency response and critical care management

Required Certifications

• BLS (American Heart Association only)
• ACLS (American Heart Association only)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Candidates with any license or background issues will not be considered. It is essential to thoroughly review the candidate’s history before submission. Local RN candidates living within 50 miles are not eligible for this position.
