Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg

Job Details

This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical Surgical (Med Surg) care. This role involves providing high-quality patient care in an acute care setting with a focus on monitoring and managing patient needs.

Shift Information

• Shift Type: Days
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Work Schedule: Every other weekend

Position Requirements

• Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week
• Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years, including at least 1 travel assignment
• Certifications Required:
  • BLS (AHA)
  • NIHSS

Unit Information

• Bed Capacity: 44 beds
• Staff: 40 staff members
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:5, possibly 1:6 for both days and nights
• Nurse Aides: Available with a typical ratio of 1:8, generally 1:10
• EMR System: Meditech (experience preferred but not required)
• Floating: Required to all acute care and cardio units

Orientation and Training

• General Orientation: 1 week, including EMR training
• Floor-specific Orientation: 2 days

Additional Information

• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: As needed
• Scrub Color: Caribbean Blue
