Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Acute Care MedSurg team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced medical-surgical environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in accordance with established procedures and protocols.
• Monitor and assess patients’ conditions, documenting vital signs and changes in health status.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care activities.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Participate in patient and family education to promote health and wellness.
• Assist in coordinating care and ensuring seamless transitions between various levels of service.
• Floats to all acute care and cardiac areas to provide coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• Active and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• A minimum of 1 year of nursing experience with at least one travel assignment.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA.
• Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
• Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR) systems; Meditech experience preferred but not required.

Shift Information

• Shifts: 12-hour shifts from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
• Guaranteed hours: 36 hours per week.
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend.
• Holidays: As needed.

Unit Information

• 44-bed acute care unit with a staffing ratio of 1:5, possibly 1:6.
• Nurse aides on the unit assist with patient care, typically with a ratio of 1:8 to 1:10.
• General orientation lasting one week, including EMR training, followed by two days of floor-specific orientation.

The position is located in a vibrant community with a population of approximately 80,000. The area offers various housing options that are gated, safe, and well-maintained. Local housing properties are known for their availability and accommodating services for healthcare travelers.
