Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This role involves providing high-quality patient care within the Cardiac Cath Lab, with responsibilities including the circulation of cases and coordination within a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Circulate in Cardiac Cath Lab procedures.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to provide optimal patient care.
• Monitor patients during procedures and respond to any changes in condition.
• Maintain a sterile environment and demonstrate expertise in sterile techniques.
• Complete simulations for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes as part of the competency verification.

Qualifications:

• Valid Arizona Registered Nurse (RN) License.
• Current ACLS and BLS certification required.
• Experience in a Level I Trauma facility preferred; will consider busy Level II Trauma experience.
• Successful completion of a dysrhythmia exam is required.
• Strong knowledge of sterile technique and ability to recognize and troubleshoot dysrhythmias.

Unit Information:

• Unit Type: Cardiac Cath Lab
• Number of Beds: Three main, one electrophysiology (EP), and one hybrid for both vascular and cardiac cases.
• Daily Cases: 10-25 procedures.
• Equipment Utilized: Philips and Siemens systems; EMR systems include Cerner and Xper.
• Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule.
• Holidays: Work included in the shift rotation.

Additional Notes:

• Call required – 6 to 10 shifts per schedule with a 30-minute response time.
• On-the-job orientation will be provided for 2 days.
• Common diagnoses include interventional procedures, electrophysiology lab cases, peripherals, mitral clip, TAVR, and intra-aortic balloon pump placements.
