Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in a dynamic operating room environment. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care while efficiently managing surgical cases and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

General Job Duties

• Circulate cases and assist with turnover cleaning.
• Transport patients as needed.
• Schedule surgical cases efficiently.

Required Procedures for Independent Circulation

The Registered Nurse will independently circulate the following types of procedures:

• General
• Orthopedic
• Vascular
• Ophthalmic
• Urology
• ENT
• Endoscopy
• Robotic
• Obstetrics
• Gynecology

Equipment Utilized

• EPIC
• Pyxis
• Provation

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience circulating cases in a hospital setting.
• Ability to scrub cases is preferred.
• Valid BLS certification.
• State of Hawaii RN license is required for this position.

Shift Requirements

The department operates Monday through Friday from 0645 to 2315, with variable shifts based on departmental needs. Travelers will be scheduled for 40 hours a week, with possible reductions to 32 hours during holidays. All staff members are required to participate in the on-call schedule, averaging 1-2 times per week, plus up to 2 weekends each month. Candidates must reside within a 30-minute radius for call back.

Orientation and Contract Requirements

New hires will undergo orientation on the day shift for up to one week, as determined by the manager. A minimum of 39 shifts must be completed during the contract period, accounting for any requested time off that is approved.

Unit Information

The operating room features 6 surgical suites, with one suite dedicated to C-sections, typically managing 4 to 6 rooms simultaneously. We pride ourselves on being a small, but highly efficient team in a busy operating environment.

Dress Code

Scrubs will be provided for all staff members.

Additional Information

Candidates must arrive the Thursday before their start date to attend an employee health appointment scheduled for Friday. Please confirm your availability before accepting the start date.
