Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)
We are seeking a skilled Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) with strong experience in ophthalmology, orthopedic procedures (including Mako technology), and neuro spine surgery. This position requires a commitment to high-quality patient care and effective collaboration within a fast-paced surgical environment.
Job Description
The OR RN will be responsible for circulating in the operating room for three 12-hour shifts per week, from Monday to Friday, with various scheduled days off each week. The role includes participation in on-call shifts, approximately every 6-8 weeks, including weekend call on Saturdays and Sundays. The start date for this position is in October.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
- Strong background in ophthalmology and orthopedic procedures, with Mako experience preferred.
- Experience in neuro spine surgery is required.
- Willingness to participate in on-call duties as scheduled.
- Ability to float within the scope to meet facility needs is not required for this position.
- Recent Epic experience is preferred but not mandatory.
- Open to accommodations for block scheduling is not applicable.
- Must be able to complete all compliance documents prior to the start date.
- Travelers may be hired without a license, provided that it is obtained prior to the beginning of the assignment.
Important Notes
- All requested time off (RTO) must be included in the initial submission; late requests will not be accommodated.
- Travelers are subject to attendance policies; missing more than two shifts in a 13-week contract may lead to contract review and potential cancellation.
- Candidates must successfully pass the Cardiac Dysrhythmia Test and Moderate Sedation Test during orientation. There is only one opportunity to pass these tests.
Orientation and Training
The orientation will include 16 hours of training focused on essential skills and job-specific requirements. Travelers must report to the lab for testing within 24 hours after signing the contract.
Patient Care Details
This role will involve providing care to a diverse patient population, including adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. The daily workload and specific unit details will be communicated during the orientation process.
