ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The successful candidate will work in a stepdown unit with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:3. This position requires excellent clinical skills and the ability to manage a variety of patient needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Caring for patients with respiratory disease processes, neurological disorders, and chronic illnesses.
• Administering IV medications including insulin, cardizem, heparin, Lasix, and low-dose pressors.
• Monitoring patient conditions and responding to changes effectively.
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records using the Epic EMR system.
• Participating in patient care planning and collaborating with healthcare professionals.

Qualifications

• Active BLS certification (must be AHA certified).
• ACLS certification required.
• Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience.
• Ability to work weekends, with a requirement of 5 shifts every 6 weeks.
• Willingness to float to other units as needed.

Working Conditions

This position involves working in a unit that accommodates 24 beds and offers comprehensive care to critically ill patients. Orientation will be provided for a duration of 3 days.

Dress Code

The uniform consists of navy blue pants and solid navy-blue tops, or solid white tops. Jackets must be solid navy blue or solid white. Long sleeve shirts worn under scrubs must also be navy or white.
