Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Emergency Center team on the evening shift. The successful candidate will provide high-quality, compassionate care in a fast-paced environment, ensuring the wellbeing of patients from pediatric to geriatric age groups.

Shift Details

• Evening Shift: 3 PM – 3 AM
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care for a diverse patient population in the Emergency Room.
• Manage both trauma and non-trauma cases while ensuring adherence to standard protocols.
• Coordinate care with members of the healthcare team, including physicians, nurse aides, and other support staff.
• Utilize EMR system (Meditech 6.15) for patient charting and documentation.
• Participate in weekend and holiday rotations, approximately every other week.
• Complete orientation and training within the first week of employment.

Patient Care Environment

• Average patient visits: 180-200 per day.
• Staffing ratio: 1 RN to 4 patients.
• Dedicated behavioral lock-down area for psychiatric patients.
• Support provided by tele/monitor technicians and 24/7 respiratory therapy.

Required Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in emergency nursing.
• Must have Meditech experience.
• Current certifications:
  • ACLS
  • BLS
  • PALS
  • TNCC
  • CPI
  • NIHSS or ASLS
• Mental health experience preferred, particularly in an emergency setting.
• Must reside within a 75-mile radius of the work location.

Additional Information

• Scrub color: Caribbean Blue.
• Nurses will perform their own lab draws and start their own IVs.
• Pharmacy services and respiratory therapy are available 24/7.
• Orientation consists of two shifts on-site.

Attention to detail in following call-out procedures and completing required training within the designated timeline is imperative. Compliance with dress code and professional conduct is expected at all times.
