Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team in Long Term Care settings. The PTA will work 8-hour shifts to provide rehabilitative treatment interventions to patients with physical functioning disorders, under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize evidence-based practice to support clinical interventions.
• Provide medically necessary treatment interventions for patients with physical functioning disorders.
• Administer various rehabilitation procedures, including manual techniques, ambulation, therapeutic exercises, and modalities.
• Assess patient progress and maintain communication with the supervising Physical Therapist to adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Document treatment minutes and all necessary information in the electronic documentation system, ensuring compliance with regulatory and clinical requirements.
• Consult and counsel patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers related to physical disorders.
• Effectively communicate with the healthcare team regarding patient progress, barriers, and treatment plans.
• Assist in the preparation of discharge summaries in collaboration with the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Participate in patient care conferences, rehabilitation meetings, and other required meetings.
• Support and supervise students under the guidance of the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Adhere to professional ethics and standards as defined by applicable regulatory bodies and practice acts.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
• Experience in Long Term Care or Rehabilitation settings.
• Active State Licensure in Massachusetts.
