Pediatric Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C)

Job Overview

This is a 6-month contract position with the possibility of extension. The selected candidate will work in a busy pediatric environment, providing comprehensive medical assistance to pediatric patients. The role requires a Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) status, with a strong focus on patient care and administrative support.

Schedule

• 4×10-hour shifts: 0730 – 1800
• Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday
• Days Off: Thursdays and weekends

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience working as an MA-C in an adult outpatient clinic setting
• Current certification as a Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) required

Key Responsibilities

• Vital Signs: Measure and record vital signs, conduct hearing screenings, and perform vision testing.
• Prepare for Exam: Gather patient history, medications, and allergies.
• Set Up and Assist with Procedures: Assist with nebulizer treatments.
• Injections: Administer immunizations to patients.
• Specimen Collection: Label and collect specimens, including throat swabs, urine (UA/Clean Catch), and perform venipuncture.
• Laboratory Tests: Conduct blood glucose testing via glucometer.
• Office Duties: Manage pharmacy calls, patient refill requests, and telephone triage.
• Professional Knowledge and Skills: Administer TB tests, make follow-up phone calls, room patients, and perform suture removal.
