Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Medical Surgical team. This role involves providing care for adult to geriatric patients with various diagnoses, including diabetes, post-operative procedures, wound vacs, and bariatric cases.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to a diverse patient population.
• Utilize assessment skills to evaluate patient needs and develop appropriate care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor patient progress and respond to changes in their conditions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Maintain accurate documentation in electronic health record systems, specifically Epic.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience; first-time travelers are welcomed.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Work Environment

• Medical Surgical / Remote Telemetry unit focusing on a variety of medical conditions.
• Patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:5-6 with an average daily census of 28 patients.
• Wear designated navy blue scrubs while on duty.

Shift Details

• Night shift: 3 shifts per week (19:00 – 07:00).
• Every other weekend availability is required.

Additional Information

• Floating to other areas within the facility may be required as per competency.
• Participation in the call schedule is expected on alternate weekends and holidays.
• The traveler may be expected to work major holidays based on assignment period.

Compliance and Orientation

Full compliance is required to ensure timely onboarding. The number of non-billable orientation hours will be determined by contract length.
