Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our MedSurg/Telemetry team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical-surgical nursing and experience in telemetry care, specifically in managing neurological patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to stroke and neurosurgery patients, as well as other neurological diagnoses such as epilepsy and subdural hematomas.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor and interpret telemetry readings, identifying dysrhythmias and intervening appropriately.
- Initiate IV therapy and manage IV lines effectively.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Participate in patient education and support activities.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, including at least 1 year of direct MedSurg experience.
- Previous travel nursing experience is preferred; candidates must have at least 2 successful contracts.
- Must have knowledge and experience with telemetry and dysrhythmia management.
- Current certifications: BCLS, NIH, NIHSS. ACLS certification is preferred but not required.
Job Details
- Patient Ratios: 1:6
- Contract length: 13-26 weeks; options for 36 or 48 hours per week.
- Shifts: 12-hour nights.
- Required to work every other weekend with potential for floating to other medical-surgical and telemetry areas, including COVID care units.
- Unit orientation duration: 36 hours.
Additional Information
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start.
- Scrubs color: Navy
- Frequent floating may be required based on unit needs.
- Call offs or additional time off may lead to contract cancellation or a do not rehire status.
