Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team. This role involves working in a dynamic medical-surgical unit with responsibilities in providing care to adult and geriatric patients. Candidates should be adaptable to various patient needs, including possible care for COVID-19 patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to medical-surgical patients.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Participate as a member of an Inclement Weather Team and respond during catastrophic events when required.
• Assist in the management of patients requiring advanced treatment such as Heparin Drips and High-Flow Oxygen.
• Perform wound dressing changes and other hospital protocols.
• Attend team meetings, typically held on the 4th Wednesday of each month.

Shift Details

• 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15.
• 36 or 48 hour work weeks available.
• Rotation through every other weekend and holiday shifts will be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.
• EPIC experience is mandatory.
• Current BCLS certification is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a charge nurse role.
• CPI certification is an asset.

Unit Specifics

• Target nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6.
• Daily patient census averages around 43.
• Unit orientation is 24 hours.

Additional Requirements

• Must pass EKG testing prior to start.
• Float to similar units and alternate care locations within the facility as needed.
