Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor and Delivery

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients in various stages of labor, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for mothers and their newborns.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform triage assessments and monitor labor progress.
• Utilize external fetal monitoring to assess fetal well-being.
• Recognize and treat abnormal fetal heart rate patterns.
• Circulate during cesarean sections as required.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including perinatal staff.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of obstetric protocols and standards.

Shift Details

Shift involves working 3 night shifts of 12 hours each per week, with a requirement to float to the perinatal unit as needed. Weekend shifts are mandatory, with a total of 4 weekend shifts expected each month (either Friday or Saturday nights). Additionally, the nurse will be placed on call approximately twice per month if not needed for their scheduled shift.

Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Labor and Delivery nursing.
• Proficiency in the use of SBAR, Omnicell, and eMD Allscripts.
• Must have experience with EPIC electronic health record system.

Certifications

• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
• AWHONN Advanced Certification

Time Off Policy

All requests for time off (RTO) must be included at the time of application. No time off is allowed during the first two weeks of the assignment. Only one holiday request for time off may be submitted, and while it is not guaranteed to be approved, preference will be given to those who work most holidays. A maximum of 3 days of RTO is permitted during the contract period.
