Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled ICU Registered Nurse with recent ICU experience to join our dynamic team. The role entails providing specialized care and support for critically ill patients in a fast-paced environment.

Required Skills and Certifications

• Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience
• IV Start
• Telemetry and Cardiac Telemetry
• Titration of Cardiac Drips
• Utilization of Rapid Response Teams
• Feeding Tube Management
• Heparin Protocols
• PCA Administration
• CVA Care
• ACLS Certification
• BCLS Certification

Preferred Skills and Certifications

• Experience in MS/Tele
• Ability to titrate vasoactive drips
• Care for ventilated patients
• Wound Care and Wound Vacuum Management
• NHISS Certification

Job Details

• Patient Ratios: 1:4
• Hours Offered: 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour Nights (18:45 – 07:15)
• Self-scheduling available, balanced and approved by staffing
• Floating required to Med Surg with a 1:6 ratio as needed
• Weekend requirement: Minimum of 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule

Patient Diagnoses

The Intermediate Critical Care Unit specializes in managing complex patient conditions, which may include:

• Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA)
• Sickle Cell Disease
• Sepsis
• Respiratory Distress
• Pneumonia
• Heart Failure
• Stroke and stroke-like symptoms

Special Procedures and Equipment

• Acting as a Rapid Response Registered Nurse
• Use of BiPAP, CPAP, and Optiflow equipment

Additional Information

• Unit Orientation: 36 hours
• Scrubs: Navy or Navy and White
• EKG Testing required prior to start for this specialty
