Registered Nurse (RN) – Obstetrics and Gynecology

Position Information:

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care in the Obstetrics and Gynecology department. This role requires a commitment to high-quality care and teamwork within the healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care to mother/baby patients as well as patients undergoing gynecological surgical procedures.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort through effective monitoring and assessment of patient conditions.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to deliver comprehensive and compassionate care.
• Assist in the education of patients and their families regarding post-operative care and recovery.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
• Comply with hospital policies and procedures while supporting a positive work environment.

Shift Information:

• Shift: Nights, 1830-0700
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
• Weekend Hours: Required as per facility policy (every third weekend)

Qualifications:

• Required Licensure: Current RN License in the state of Missouri or eligibility for licensure.
• Required Certifications: BLS certification from AHA is mandatory.
• Preferred Certifications: NRP and STABLE certifications are advantageous.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience in medical-surgical nursing or mother/baby care.
• Float Requirements: Ability to float to other units as needed based on skill level.

Unit Information:

• Number of Beds: 24 adult and 10 newborns.
• Patient Ratios: Approximately 6:1.
• Equipment Used: Alaris IV pumps and EMR system (EPIC).
• Types of Patients: Including but not limited to mother/baby patients, gynecological patients, and those undergoing bariatric and colorectal surgeries.
