Shift and Scheduling Details

The position is for a Night Shift, working 4×12 hours from 19:00 to 07:30.

The schedule includes working 3 weekends (Friday to Sunday) every four weeks, with the possibility of being scheduled for any day of the weekend.

There are no block schedules available for this position.

Job Overview

This role involves providing care in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment typical of an Emergency Department (ED). The selected candidate will be expected to manage a high patient load, with ratios of 1:5 to 1:6, and potentially up to 1:8 during peak periods or holidays.

The department serves as a Level 1 Trauma Center, Stroke Center, Heart Center, and includes a Pediatric Emergency Department.

Required Qualifications

• Current state nursing license
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• BCLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA certified
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) – Preferred
• NIH Stroke Scale Certification

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Emergency Room setting
• Experience in Level I trauma centers is required
• Strong skills in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Proficiency in EPIC charting systems

Preferred Skills

• First-time travelers are accepted
• Experience with continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation administration
• Triage experience is a plus

Additional Information

Travelers must provide RTO (Request Time Off) at the time of submission; further RTO requests will not be approved later. Certain high-demand periods have designated no RTO available, specifically around 10/31 and 12/18-12/28.

Floating to pediatric units may be required as part of the role.
