Operating Room (OR) Nurse

Job Overview

An opportunity for an experienced Operating Room Nurse to join a dynamic team. This position requires a strong background in surgical procedures and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in the operating room, ensuring safety and comfort throughout procedures.
• Assist in various surgical specialties, including general, orthopedic, plastic, GI, urology, pediatric dental, and surgical oncology.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure efficient and effective patient outcomes.
• Participate in on-unit education and orientation for new staff members.

Schedule

This position is available in various shift lengths, with options for 5X8 or 4X10 scheduling. The standard working hours are from 6:45 AM to 3:15 PM, Monday through Friday, with on-call requirements including two weekdays and one weekend per month.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Operating Room Nurse.
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (if involved in pediatric cases).
• Ability to float is not required; travel between units is not expected.
• Experience with the Omnicell medication management system and Epic for charting is preferred.

Additional Requirements

• Compliance with the flu vaccine policy, allowing only medical exemptions with appropriate documentation.
• Completion of fingerprinting clearance, which can be processed remotely or in person.

Facility Information

The facility is equipped with 4 operating rooms and 1 procedure room, performing an average of 15 to 22 cases daily. The total capacity of the facility is 67 beds.

Orientation

New hires will undergo a comprehensive orientation program, which will include on-unit training, virtual education via HealthStream, and will last for one week.
