Operating Room Nurse

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Operating Room Nurse to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care in the operating room setting. This position requires a commitment to excellence and collaboration with healthcare professionals to ensure the highest quality of service.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the operating room.
• Collaborate with surgeons and surgical teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Monitor patient vital signs and respond to any changes during procedures.
• Maintain a sterile field and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
• Participate in patient education and provide support to patients and families.
• Document patient information and surgical procedures accurately in the electronic health record.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an operating room setting.
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS.

Shift Details

• Shift Length: 8 or 10 hours
• Schedule: 5 days per week or 4 days per week with a mix of weekdays and weekends on call.
• Call Requirements: 2 week days and 1 weekend per month.

Unit Information

• Operating Room with 4 ORs and 1 procedure room.
• Average of 15-22 cases per day.
• Experience in general surgery, orthopedics, plastics, GI, urology, pediatric dental, and surgical oncology is preferred.

Orientation and Training

The orientation consists of on-unit training with healthstream virtual education, followed by a one-week orientation program to acclimate to unit procedures and protocols.

Additional Requirements

• Flu vaccine is required unless a documented medical exemption is provided.
• Fingerprinting is required, with options for remote or in-person processing.
