Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team. This position is focused on delivering high-quality patient care within a dynamic setting, specializing in oncology and progressive care support. The RN will work night shifts and be responsible for providing a wide range of nursing services to patients in a stepdown unit.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in an adult oncology and trauma progressive care unit.
• Administer medications, manage IV therapy, and monitor patient vital signs.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
• Perform hourly rounding and engage in bedside shift reporting to enhance patient experience.
• Titrate drips such as insulin, Cardizem, and chemotherapy medications as necessary.
• Ensure compliance with safety and health regulations, including adherence to policies on artificial nails.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, with a preference for oncology and progressive care experience.
• Current certifications in BLS and ACLS are required.
• Chemotherapy certification is preferred but not required.
• Experience in managing titratable drips and using respiratory equipment, such as high-flow systems, preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for patient care are essential.

Shift Details

• 12-hour night shifts.
• Rotating weekends required.
• Self-scheduling available, balanced with unit needs.

Support Staff

The Registered Nurse will work alongside a collaborative team that includes nursing assistants, charge nurses, physical and occupational therapists, RN case managers, social workers, educators, and dietitians to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Orientation and Training

New hires will undergo a two-day orientation to acclimate to unit policies, procedures, and technology.
