Registered Nurse (RN) – Inpatient Rehabilitation/Medical Surgical

Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Inpatient Rehabilitation/Medical Surgical team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care in our adult Med Surg unit, handling a variety of patient diagnoses.

Shift Information

• Shift hours: 3×12, Days (07:00 – 19:00)
• Weekend Requirement: May be every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block.
• Holiday Requirement: Must work one holiday per 13-week contract.
• Call Off Policy: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to a diverse population with various medical and rehabilitation needs.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the healthcare team.
• Monitor patient conditions and report any changes to the physician or healthcare team.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Participate in patient education and assist in rehabilitation processes.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using EPIC.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or a single-state license from a non-compact state.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN) certification is preferred.
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Blue Certification is highly preferred.
• Experience in Medical Surgical and Rehabilitation settings is required.
• Skilled in peripheral line care/management, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, and isolation precautions.

Unit Details

• Patient-to-nurse ratios of 1:6, with potential flexibility up to 1:7.
• Common patient diagnoses include stroke, spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, amputations, and multi-trauma.
• The unit consists of 33 adult beds (no telemetry). Nurses may be required to float to other medical surgical units as needed.
