Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

The competent Nurse practices independently in a clinical setting, demonstrating a thorough understanding of relevant aspects of patient care. The Nurse provides both routine and complex care, focusing on long-range goals and plans. Responsibilities include managing clinical contingencies while making appropriate assignments and delegating tasks to other care providers as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of the applicable nursing competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provides nursing care in accordance with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Adds to the understanding of complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families based on their level of practice.
• Administers medications and treatments according to established protocols, monitoring for side effects and the effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided effectively and accurately.
• Assesses learning needs and provides appropriate education to patients, family members, and caregivers, identifying any issues and available resources.

Job Requirements

Education/Skills

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is preferred.

Experience

• At least 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty is preferred.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

• BLS certification via AHA is required.
• Current RN license in the state of employment or a compact license.

Work Schedule

Shift: Days (7 AM – 7 PM) with a requirement to work every other weekend.
