L&D Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking an experienced L&D Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This position requires a high level of expertise in labor and delivery as well as postpartum care, with a commitment to providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care during all phases of labor and delivery.
• Monitor and assess patients using evidence-based practices, including titrating oxytocin.
• Collaborate with obstetricians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Assist during C-sections in the operating room as needed.
• Utilize advanced fetal monitoring techniques in accordance with AWHONN guidelines.
• Participate in the orientation and education of new staff and travelers.
• Float to other departments as needed throughout the facility, providing support as necessary.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor & Delivery and postpartum nursing.
• Current certifications:
  • ACLS (AHA)
  • AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring
  • BLS (AHA)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• Ability to read and interpret cardiac strips; familiarity with GE monitoring systems preferred.
• Experience with common diagnoses such as hypertension, preeclampsia, and preterm labor.

Work Environment

• Night shifts, with weekend availability required (4-5 shifts in a 6-week period).
• On-call requirement of 1 shift during each 6-week schedule block, with flexibility in scheduling.
• Support staff including nurse aides and surgical techs available on the unit.
• Unit-specific orientation will be provided; attendance is mandatory.
