Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and supervising individual patient care through the nursing process. This role includes directing co-workers and delegating appropriate tasks to implement care, all in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Job Qualifications:

• Education: Associate degree in nursing required; Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: Valid license to practice in the state of Ohio. CPR certification required.
• Experience: Previous experience in registered nursing preferred.

Essential Job Functions:

• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care based on the nursing process.
• Provides quality care that aligns with established plans of care.
• Educates patients and families throughout the care process.
• Documents nursing processes and pathways accurately and thoroughly.
• Communicates pertinent observations and changes in patient status to physicians.
• Administers medications and treatments safely and accurately.
• Implements physician orders as directed and ensures necessary equipment is available.

Physical Capacity Demand:

• Heavy Work: Requires exertion of 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or 25 to 50 pounds frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds constantly.
• Position may involve frequent handling of patients and equipment.

Job Considerations:

• Psychological/Mental: Requires the ability to manage urgent situations calmly and communicate empathetically.
• Physiological: May encounter exposure to electrical equipment.
• Cognitive: Intact cognitive functions including attention, memory, and perception are required.
