Registered Nurse (RN)

The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality care to patients in the Emergency Room by utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and established hospital policies and procedures. The role requires critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership while anticipating and planning for the safe delivery of care in the Emergency Department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilize the Nursing Process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Demonstrate critical thinking and scientific judgment in emergency situations.
• Maintain clinical competencies through ongoing education and training.
• Delegate patient care priorities based on the education and experience of the available staff.
• Provide direction and supervision to assigned personnel delivering patient care.
• Respond effectively and efficiently to emergencies and patient needs.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.
• Current state nursing license is required.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS.
• Experience with Cerner EMR is preferred.
• Charge nurse experience is preferred.
• Ability to float to different areas as needed within the department.

Additional Information:

• Facility is Trauma Level III Certified and is capable of Stroke and STEMI receiving.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification is not required but recommended.
• Shift availability for nights: 7 PM to 7:30 AM (3x12s) with potential for 48-hour guarantees.
• Dress code includes black scrub colors.
