Neuro ICU/IMCU Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

The Neuro ICU/IMCU Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for providing critical care to patients with neurological conditions. The role encompasses both Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) responsibilities, with the expectation of floating between the two units as needed.

Unit Information

The ICU nurse-to-patient ratio is 1-2, while the stepdown ratio is 3-4 patients per nurse. Candidates should possess strong neurological experience and be adept at managing complex patient care scenarios.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients with neurological conditions.
• Monitor and assess patient vital signs and neurological status.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with established protocols.
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Document all patient care activities accurately and timely.
• Support and educate patients and their families regarding care processes and health management.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Neuro ICU or IMCU setting.
• Current and valid nursing license verification.
• Comprehensive skills checklist relevant to neuro care.
• References from previous employers or clinical supervisors.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
