Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care while working in a collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population with common diagnoses, including but not limited to total joint replacements, spinal surgeries, urology procedures, and various abdominal surgeries.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, executing timely interventions and reporting changes as necessary.
• Facilitate effective communication and bedside shift reports with team members.
• Participate in the early ambulation and rehabilitation of post-operative patients.
• Float to medical and telemetry units as needed, while ensuring patient safety and care quality.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• BLS Certification required.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a surgical setting.
• Experience with post-operative care and ambulation is highly desirable.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate strong clinical skills.
• Must be willing to float to other medical units.

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Medical Surgical with a total of 30 beds.
• Nurse to Patient Ratios: Days – 1:4-5, Nights – 1:5-6.
• Support staff available, including patient care technicians at a ratio of 1:12.
• Charge Nurse support on every shift with minimal assignments on Nights.

Schedule and Requirements

• 12-hour shifts with guaranteed hours of 48 hours per week.
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend.
• Holiday coverage as needed.
• First to float assignments are expected.

Dress Code

Scrubs of any color are acceptable, enhancing a professional yet comfortable work environment.
