Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA)

Job Description

As a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA), you will play a crucial role in providing compassionate care to residents in a long-term care environment. Under the supervision of the Unit Manager, Assistant Director of Nursing, or Director of Nursing, you assume responsibility and accountability for a designated group of residents during your shift. Your nursing care will be delivered through thorough assessment, implementation, and evaluation of the individualized care plans.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care while adhering to nursing care standards and guidelines.
• Manage the resident care environment to ensure safety and comfort.
• Supervise the performance of resident care activities conducted by nursing assistants and helpers.
• Follow all organizational policies and procedures, along with applicable state regulations and standards.

Work Schedule

• 12-hour Night shifts
• 36 hours guaranteed weekly
• Every other weekend is required

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of experience in Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or Long-Term Care (LTC) settings.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• COVID-19 vaccination is required; medical and religious exemptions may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
• Candidates should be adaptable in high-paced and high-stress environments.

State Licensure Requirements

• Valid Michigan state license as a Certified Nurse Assistant.
