Occupational Therapist (OT)
Job Summary
An Occupational Therapist (OT) is needed to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment for patients in various settings including inpatient, assisted living, and outpatient environments. This position involves working with a diverse patient population and varies based on clinical needs.
Job Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality occupational therapy services to patients across a broad range of diagnoses.
- Perform evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans based on patients’ needs.
- Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals, including COTAs and rehabilitation aides.
- Document patient progress and adapt treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding treatment protocols and rehabilitation processes.
- Serve a variable patient load and adapt to changes in census and scheduled hours.
Requirements
- BLS Certification and current Illinois licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience, with pediatric experience required.
- Demonstrated competency in evaluation and treatment for a wide range of conditions.
- Ability to integrate therapeutic techniques for patients with diverse needs including developmental delays and sensory issues.
Work Schedule
- Full-time position with a shift length of 10 hours per day.
- Schedules may vary, allowing for flexibility in hours with options such as 4-10s or 5-8s.
- Currently, no weekend or holiday shifts are required.
Dress Code
Black scrubs or black collared shirts with khaki pants are required.
Department Orientation
Comprehensive orientation will be provided for new hires to ensure familiarity with departmental protocols and expectations.
Patient Population
The OT will treat a highly variable number of patients each day, with an emphasis on the following:
- Acute inpatient rehabilitation (40%)
- Outpatient therapy (40%)
- Assisted living and swing-bed settings (10% each, variable)
Team Structure
The Occupational Therapy department consists of 2 Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and is managed by a qualified OT Manager.
