Registered Nurse (RN) – Operating Room/Surgery

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Operating Room/Surgery team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate independence in practice and possess a strong awareness of relevant clinical situations.

Summary:

The Registered Nurse in this role will provide both routine and complex patient care while effectively managing clinical situations. You will continue to develop and enhance your nursing skills, actively coping with and managing the contingencies that arise in clinical nursing.

Responsibilities:

• Meet expectations based on applicable competencies, focusing on leadership at the self, others, or organizational levels.
• Provide nursing care by utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Address the psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families according to their level of practice.
• Administer medications and treatments following appropriate protocols, and monitor for side effects and effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided thoroughly and accurately.
• Assess learning needs and offer education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers, identifying issues and resources as necessary.

Job Requirements:

Education/Skills

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.

Experience

• Preferred minimum of 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (American Heart Association only).
• Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or a compact state is required.
