Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (Nursing)

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience providing quality care in a fast-paced environment and a passion for helping patients in critical conditions.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population including newborns, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in the Emergency Department.
• Manage patients with common diagnoses such as stroke, sepsis, trauma, myocardial infarction, cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure.
• Utilize specialty equipment such as Rapid Infusor and Arctic Sun effectively.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.
• Adhere to facility protocols and maintain compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Provide care to all assigned patients, including those requiring Sexual Assault Nurse Examinations (SANE).
• Perform floating duties as required within the department.

Qualifications:

• Current and active Registered Nurse license in New York.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Emergency Department nursing, with some pediatric experience.
• Documentation of travel nursing experience is required.
• Current certifications in AHA ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC; TNCC certification must be in hand at the time of application.
• Experience with EMR systems, specifically EPIC.
• Strong charge capability is highly preferred.
• Must have a driver’s license with an address that matches demographics.

Shift Information:

This position requires working on a day shift from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM. Please note that block scheduling is not guaranteed.

Unit Details:

• Total number of beds in the unit: 64
• Unit composition: 40 acute beds, 6 super track, 2 trauma beds, 10 clinical decision unit beds, 6 psychiatric beds, and 2 triage areas.
