Cardiac Catheterization Technologist

We are seeking a skilled Cardiac Catheterization Technologist to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating heart, lung, and blood vessel disorders. This position involves conducting both invasive and non-invasive diagnostic tests of cardiovascular and pulmonary systems while ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety.

Job Summary

The Cardiac Catheterization Technologist aids physicians by operating x-ray and physiological equipment, assisting in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and maintaining accurate records of test results.

Essential Functions

• Assist physicians with various procedures and operations.
• Operate special procedure equipment and modify technical factors as necessary.
• Act as a resource for specialized procedures and implement practice improvements.
• Monitor, record, and evaluate patient vital signs throughout procedures.
• Implement radiation safety standards including collimation, patient protection, and immobilization techniques.
• Maintain sterile techniques and adhere to isolation and infection control procedures.
• Manage all cardiac catheterization equipment including C-Arms and angiographic injectors.
• Assist the Cardiologist and/or Radiologist during special procedures, including administration of opaque media.

Education and Work Experience

• Associate’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience – Preferred
• One year of catheterization experience – Preferred

Licenses/Certifications

• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists – Radiography (ARRT) – Required
• Current state Radiologic Technology license – Required
• Current Fluoroscopy license (within 6 months of hire) – Required in California
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor – Required
