Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to join our dynamic team. This position involves working in a full-service operating room environment and requires a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.

Shift Information

• Shift Length: 10 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
• Shift Timing: 0645-1715 with rotating days off
• Call Schedule: Weekday and weekend call by rotation
• Response Time for Call: 30 minutes

Unit Information

• Number of Operating Rooms: 19 suites
• Average Cases per Day: 55-60, approximately 1000 cases per month
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: Meditech

Qualifications

• Minimum Experience: 2-3 years in a relevant setting
• Required Certifications: ACLS and BLS Certification
• Behavioral Expectations: Reliable, punctual, and flexible with a commitment to teamwork and patient care

Role Responsibilities

• Participate in comprehensive patient assessment and planning of care
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Provide education and support to patients and their families
• Assist in surgical procedures as needed, scrubbing preferred but not required
• Rotate holiday coverage with permanent staff

Additional Information

• Orientation: One week of floor-specific orientation will be provided
• Common Types of Cases: The facility performs a wide range of procedures excluding major pediatrics and transplants, and functions as a level 2 trauma center.
• Support Staff: Operating room technicians are available and must be Certified Surgical Technologists (CST)
