Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team. The position entails providing comprehensive respiratory care to patients across various age groups, including adults, pediatrics, and neonates. The therapist will be responsible for a range of clinical duties and will be the sole respiratory therapist on duty during assigned shifts.

Shift Information

• Shift: 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM
• Weekends as needed

Key Responsibilities

• Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) draws and electrocardiograms (EKGs).
• Administer breathing treatments and manage mechanical ventilation, heated high flow, bilevel positive airway pressure (BiPAP), and continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) therapy.
• Provide support in nursery and C-section cases.
• Conduct home oxygen set-up for patients.
• Assist with intubation as required.

Required Qualifications

• Certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), PALS (AHA)
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential via NBRC
• Colorado state license required

Additional Information

• Department-specific orientation will last 2-3 weeks.
• This role involves working primarily in inpatient settings, the emergency room, labor and delivery recovery suites (LDRP), and occasionally in post-anesthesia care units (PACU).
• Self-scheduling and block scheduling are permitted.
• Expected to cover one major winter holiday and assist with weekend coverage occasionally.

Experience and Skills

• Experience in nursery, emergency department, and inpatient respiratory care is essential.
• Ability to work independently as the only respiratory therapist on duty.
