Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team. This role is focused on providing exceptional care to adult and geriatric patients, particularly in oncology and surgical trauma settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage mostly post-surgical patients, with occasional care for stroke overflow patients.
• Perform wound care and dressing changes.
• Administer TPN and PPN as needed.
• Assist with NG tubes, CBI, Foley catheters, PICC lines, and ports.
• Implement pain management strategies for patients.

Patient Population

This position primarily involves working with adult to geriatric patients.

Staffing and Compliance

• Patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:5-6 with 16 beds in the unit.
• Full compliance is required to start on time; any delays could result in a push back due to orientation schedules.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience; first-time travelers will not be considered.
• Required certifications: BLS, NIH.

Work Environment

This role will involve using Epic for documentation, along with Pyxis for medication management and SBAR for communication. The scrub color is navy blue.

Shift Requirements

• Night shifts: 3×12 hours from 19:00 to 07:00.
• Every other weekend commitment is necessary unless otherwise specified.
• No call requirements.
• Holiday work is expected for one or two major holidays within the assignment period.

• Floating may be required within the facility and scope of practice as needed.
