CNA/Ward Clerk

Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled CNA/Ward Clerk for a Medical Surgical unit. The successful candidate may also float to the Emergency Room as needed. This role involves providing essential support in patient care and clerical tasks within the healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff with patient care duties in the Medical Surgical unit.
• Perform clerical tasks, including patient admission, discharge, and data entry.
• Ensure effective communication between healthcare professionals and patients.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols.
• Float to the Emergency Room to assist as required, ensuring continuity of care.

Shift Details

• 12-hour shifts, with rotations between days and nights.
• Shifts are from 0545-1815 or 1745-0615.
• 36 hours guaranteed per week.
• Rotating weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must possess current CNA certification from the Minnesota Nurse Aide Registry.
• Current AHA BLS certification is required.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting.
• Completion of a medical terminology course or equivalent experience.
• Strong ability to think and work independently.
• Good communication skills and attention to detail.
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Unit and Staffing Information

• The Medical Surgical unit consists of 14 beds, and the Emergency Room has 6 beds.
• Typical staffing includes two CNAs per shift: one designated as a CNA and the other as Ward Clerk.
• All staff must adhere to jewelry and body adornment policies.
