Registered Nurse – Intermediate Care / Step Down (Nursing)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to provide high-quality care in the Intermediate Care/Step Down unit. The ideal candidate will have recent experience in managing medical patients requiring advanced monitoring and intervention.

Schedule

Shifts are from 7 PM to 7 AM with varying days.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients in the Intermediate Care/Step Down unit.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, vital signs, and responses to treatment.
• Utilize advanced technology and equipment to support patient care.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Educate patients and families on health management and post-discharge care.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in an Intermediate Care or Step Down setting.
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• Experience with NIHSS and managing medical patients at high risk for respiratory and cardiac complications.
• Familiarity with various surgeries such as thoracic, hepatobiliary, and head/neck surgeries is preferred.
• Ability to care for patients using respiratory assistance devices, including RA, BIPAP, or Optiflow.

Holiday Requirements

The successful candidate must be available to work during critical holiday periods, specifically:

• Two major holidays: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, or New Year’s Day.
• One minor holiday: Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year’s Eve.
