Unit Information

This 12-bed unit operates at the Intermediate level, utilizing critical care and neuroscience principles. Common patient populations include:

• Patients transferring from the Neuro ICU
• Patients with neuro trauma, subarachnoid, intraventricular, or intracerebral hemorrhage
• ENT patients with cancer who have undergone tumor resection and flap reconstruction
• Post-operative spine patients
• A wide range of neurological conditions

The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:3.

Shift Details

• Shift: Night (4×12 hours, 19:00 – 07:00)
• Schedule: 13 weeks with every other weekend and holiday shifts
• Work requirement: Must work 2 out of the 3 winter holidays
• Time off: 40 hours can be approved

Qualifications

• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• Must adhere to the float policy
• VA license pending can be submitted
• Epic experience is required
