Registered Nurse – Step Down (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for our Medical Step Down Unit. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills and the ability to manage complex patient needs in a fast-paced environment.

Unit Information

The Medical Step Down Unit consists of 6-20 beds, with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4. Common patient conditions include:

• Sepsis
• Heart Failure
• Hypertensive Emergency
• Respiratory Failure
• COPD
• Chronic Kidney Disease
• Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (TDM2)
• Substance Abuse
• Status Epilepticus
• Encephalopathy

Candidates may be required to float to various Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) units, with 5J and 12A being the most common destinations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support) certifications required.

Holiday Coverage

Mandatory holiday coverage includes working either Thanksgiving Day or the day after Thanksgiving, as well as either Christmas Eve and Christmas Day OR New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
