Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (RN)

Join a dynamic team as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department, where you will provide essential care to a diverse patient population. This position requires the ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the department.

Shift Schedule

Shift: 10:30 AM – 11:00 PM (Block scheduling is subject to availability)

Unit Overview

The Emergency Department supports 64 beds with a variety of configurations, including:

• 2 Triage Beds
• 40 Acute Beds
• 6 Super Track Beds
• 2 Trauma Beds
• 10 Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) Beds
• 6 Psychiatric Beds

Patient Demographics

You will be responsible for providing care to a wide range of patients, including:

• Newborns
• Pediatrics
• Adults
• Geriatrics

Common Diagnoses

Typical patient diagnoses include:

• Stroke
• Sepsis
• Trauma
• Myocardial Infarction (MI)
• Cardiac Arrest
• Respiratory Failure

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department experience
• Some Pediatric experience preferred
• Experience working with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, specifically EPIC
• Active New York nursing license verified through NURSYS
• Current certifications in AHA ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC
• Ability to float between various departments as needed
• Charge capability is highly preferred

Specialty Equipment and Procedures

Familiarity with the following equipment and procedures is essential:

• Rapid Infusor
• Arctic Sun

Administered Medications and Drips

Proficiency in administering required medications is necessary, including:

• Pressors: Levophed, Neo, Epi, Vasopressin, Dobutamine, and Dopamine
• Vasodilators: Cleviprex, Cardene, NTG
• Anti-arrhythmics: Cardizem, Amiodarone, Lidocaine
• Sedation agents: Precedex, Propofol, Fentanyl
• Thrombolytics: TNK
• Anticoagulants: Heparin, Insulin
