Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)

Job Description

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) will collaborate with a team to provide physical therapy services under the direction and supervision of a physical therapist. The PTA is responsible for implementing designated components of patient interventions, gathering relevant data, and adjusting treatment plans to progress the patient while ensuring their safety and comfort.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the treatment of individuals across all age groups, from newborns to the elderly, who experience medical problems or health-related conditions that limit their mobility and functional activities.
• Provide care in various settings, including inpatient, outpatient, and home health environments.

Accountability

The PTA reports directly to the Rehabilitation Manager.

Special Demands

• Mental: Must possess strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members, physicians, visitors, and administration. Ability to adapt to diverse situations and projects requiring independent judgment.
• Physical: Capability to operate relevant equipment, perform technical procedures, and communicate effectively and professionally. Supervisory and management skills are also essential.

Education Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current credentialing by the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies, Division of Professions and Occupations, State Physical Therapy Board.
• Verification of current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Experience

A minimum of four (4) years of clinical experience is required, with a strong preference for candidates who have outpatient experience. Bilingual capabilities are beneficial.

Working Environment

The general work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The position is located within a state-of-the-art Rehabilitation Gymnasium, which is clean, well-lit, heated, and air-conditioned. Candidates should be aware of potential exposure to unpleasant sights, smells, and infectious diseases.

Shift Information

Day Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Holiday coverage is not required.
