Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team. This position requires a strong background in emergency care and the ability to thrive in a high-paced environment.

Shift Information

• Shift Type: Nights
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holidays: Included in permanent staff rotation

Unit Information

• Unit: Emergency Room (ER)
• Number of Beds: 28 beds, including 4 fast track, 2 trauma bays, and additional hallway beds
• Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1 to 4
• Electronic Medical Record: Cerner
• Common Patient Types: Trauma, stroke, pediatrics, psych, etc.
• Average Patient Volume: Approximately 155 patients per day

Roles and Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to patients in a fast-paced environment.
• Conduct nursing assessments, administer medications, and perform interventions effectively.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Participate in the proctored Dysrhythmia Test onsite on the first day of employment, which is a PASS/FAIL test.
• Take charge responsibilities without a patient assignment.
• Work with a team of Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) to support patient care.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Emergency Room or Critical Care settings.
• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and COVID Vaccination Certification.
• TNCC certification is preferred.
• Experience in a high-volume emergency room with trauma exposure is preferred.
• Candidates should demonstrate strong teamwork skills and leadership ability.

Additional Notes

• Self-scheduling based on seniority, shifts made at least 2 weeks in advance.
• One day of call per month, with possible additional days depending on team rotation.
• Floor-specific orientation will consist of 2-3 shifts.
