Urology Medical Assistant (MA-C or MA-R)

Job Overview

This is a temporary to permanent opportunity for a Urology Medical Assistant. The position may lead to a permanent placement based on performance during the contract period. Candidates who are open to transitioning into a permanent role are encouraged to apply.

Schedule

• 4 days a week (Monday to Friday) with hours of 7:45 AM to 5:00 PM
• 1 designated half-day each week (8:00 AM to 12:00 PM) that will alternate based on the physician’s schedule
• Required to float to a different clinic location on Mondays

Responsibilities

• Obtain and record patients’ vital signs
• Prepare patients for exams by recording medical histories, medications, and allergies
• Set up and assist with various procedures including:
  • Cystoscopy
  • Prostate biopsy
  • Bladder scans
• Maintain a sterile field during procedures
• Label and collect specimens appropriately
• Room patients and assist them with general inquiries

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) preferred; Medical Assistant-Registered (MA-R) may be considered with relevant experience
• Minimum of 6 months of experience as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient setting is required
• Experience in a procedural-heavy clinic such as Urology, Otolaryngology, or Dermatology is ideal
• Ability to travel to multiple locations is necessary, with reliable transportation required
• Experience with EPIC charting is preferred

Additional Information

• Attire: Scrubs will be provided
• No weekend or on-call work is required
• Formal training will be provided for specific equipment such as Trophon, Ultrasound Biopsy machine, and Bladder Scanner
