Medical Assistant

Position Overview

This role is within a specialized outpatient facility focusing on liver and pancreas care. The Medical Assistant will support daily operations, working primarily with disabled adults and contributing to patient care and administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist healthcare professionals in patient examinations and procedures.
• Perform administrative tasks including patient scheduling and record maintenance.
• Utilize electronic health record systems to document patient information accurately.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure quality patient care and efficient clinic operations.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Qualifications

• Required Certifications: BLS, MA-C or MA-R (Must be endorsed by a provider at the clinic).
• Minimum 6 months of experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of healthcare terminology.
• Experience working with disabled adults is essential.

Additional Information

• Work Schedule: 5 days a week, 8 hours per day.
• No weekend shifts required.
• No on-call duties expected.
• Candidates must have reliable transportation and be prepared for housing costs and commute times in the area.
• This is a temporary to permanent opportunity; candidates should be open to transitioning to a full-time role after an initial 13-week contract period.
