ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a skilled ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team. This role requires a strong clinical skill set and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Position Overview

• Unit Type: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
• Number of Beds: 10
• Patient Ratios: 1:2 normally
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift Requirement: Nights, every other weekend, and rotated holiday obligations
• Floating Requirements: May float to PCU, Med Surg, or ER for holds with a maximum ratio of 1:4

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients, including monitoring and managing patient conditions.
• Administer medications and titrate drips per protocols.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.
• Participate in training and orientation processes for new staff.
• Engage in continuous education and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in an ICU setting.
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS are required.
• Proficient in the use of electronic health record systems; Epic experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Additional Information

• Unit has a charge nurse on every shift.
• Respiratory Therapy (RT) is available in-house 24/7.
• Centralized monitoring with nurses responsible for verification of telemetry readings.
