Job Overview

The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for delivering quality respiratory care to patients in various settings. This role is critical in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the respiratory therapy needs of patients.

Responsibilities

• Administer respiratory therapy treatments and medications as ordered by physicians.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
• Provide patient education regarding respiratory care and equipment use.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to optimize patient care.
• Utilize the Epic EMR system to document patient information and treatment outcomes.

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). Note: CRT is not accepted.
• Active Rhode Island Respiratory Therapist license or eligibility for a compact license.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification.
• Experience with Epic EMR required.
• Strong clinical judgment and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
