Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) to join our surgical team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in assisting with various surgical procedures across multiple specialties.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons during operations, providing support and expertise throughout the surgical process.
• Collaborate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team to ensure optimal patient care.
• Participate in the pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative phases of patient management.
• Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to infection control protocols.
• Utilize advanced surgical techniques, including robotics and laparoscopic procedures.
• Participate in patient education and support initiatives.

On-Call Responsibilities

• Participate in an on-call rotation of approximately 8 days during a 6-week schedule.
• Kidney call rotation Monday through Friday from 1800 to 0600.
• Weekend kidney call rotation Saturday and Sunday for 24 hours from 0600 to 0600.
• General call rotation on Saturday and Sunday from 0700 to 1700.
• Holiday general call rotation from 0700 to 1700; no kidney call on holidays.

Work Schedule

Flexible scheduling options of 4×10 hour shifts or 3×12 hour shifts are available. The expected shift timing is from 12:30 to 23:00.

Qualifications

• Must possess 3 years of experience in scrub and circulating roles.
• Proficient in robotics, bariatric, general surgery, colorectal procedures, orthopedics/spine, vascular, urology, and gynecology.
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse.
• Certification as a First Assistant preferred.
