Job Description

The Acute Care Physical Therapist is responsible for the evaluation of client function as well as the planning, directing, and administering of physical therapy treatments. These treatments are prescribed by a referring provider or identified through direct access, aiming to restore function following injury, disease, or physical disability. The therapist assists patients in achieving their maximum level of independence while helping them learn to function within the limits of their abilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of patient function.
• Develop and implement treatment plans based on evaluations and referrals.
• Administer physical therapy treatments to help restore function.
• Educate patients and their families on treatment plans and progress.
• Monitor and document patient progress throughout therapy sessions.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of experience in acute care physical therapy.
• Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development.
